Shri Brihad Bharatiya Samaj invites applications in the prescribed forms for Scholarships for the Academic Year 2008-09 from Indian students and overseas students of Indian origin,
undergoing full-time Degree courses in Indian Universities and IIT’s in Medicine (MBBS, BDS, Ayurved and Homeopathy), Engineering, Technology, Pharmacy, computer Science, Agriculture, Veterinary Science, Nursing, Education and Post-Graduate courses in these faculties.
First Year students with a minimum of 70% marks and others with minimum 60% marks in their last University examination and female students studying in First Year and above for Nursing and Education with a minimum 45% marks are eligible.
Guardian’s total annual income should not extend Rs.60,000/-. About 200 students will be selected for the award of scholarships on the basis of merit.
Students in receipt of scholarships from the central and/or the State Government or from their University/ Colleges/ Institutions will not be eligible.
Application Forms and Copies of Rules will be available from the office of the Samaj at NK Mehta International House, 178, Backbay Reclamation, Babubhai M. Chinai Marg (Behind LIC ‘Yogakshema’), Mumbai – 400 020 and may also be obtained by sending a self-addressed stamped (Rs.10/-) large-sized envelope to the Samaj Office. The last date for returning the duly filled-in application forms to the Samaj Office is 15th September, 2008.

“Your Destiny is not where you are, it's just one step away” In its ongoing endeavour to empower women, for the fifth year since inception, the Fair & Lovely Scholarships invites applications from candidates across India.
Scholarship of up to Rs. 1 lakh are awarded to deserving young girls for Graduate, Postgraduate and Doctorate studies for education in India only. Till date over 300 women have been recipients of the Scholarships.
How to Apply:

Step 2 All applications will undergo a thorough screening process.
Step 3 Shortlisted applicants will be invited for an interview. Our representatives will contact you if you are one of them.
Step 4 Remember to bring along the following documents with you at the time of your interview; 1. Academic record (certificates and mark sheets of Class X, XII and Graduation. Attested copies) 2. Admission letter from Institute / University for the desired Post Graduation course if already procured. 3. Two recent passport size photographs. PG Scholarships for Professional Courses for SC/ST Candidates
The University Grants Commission invites application for the award of Scholarship for the year 2007-08 & 2008-09 under the scheme of PG Scholarships for Professional courses for SC/ ST candidates.
The Scheme has been initiated keeping in view the social background of the candidates from the studies in Professional subjects like Engineering and Technology, Management, Pharmacy etc. in Indian Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges.
The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to 1000 SC/ST candidates to purse postgraduate level studies in Professional subjects at recognized Indian Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges.
The candidate must have obtained graduate degree in the relevant subject and obtained admission at Postgraduate level for regular full time course in any of the Professional subject in a recognized University/ Institution/ College.
Candidates pursuing PG course in Professional subjects by correspondence or by Distance Education mode are not eligible to receive financial assistance under this scheme. The upper age limit for male applicant is 45 years as on 1st July on the year of application and 50 years in the case of female candidates.
In exceptional cases, the age may be relaxed. The tenure of award is for two/three years depending upon tenure of the Postgraduate course. The Financial Assistance available under the scheme is: M. Tech: Scholarship: Rs.5, 000/- p.m.Contingency: Rs.15, 000/- p.a. Others:Scholarship: Rs.3, 000/- p.m.Contingency: Rs.10, 000/- p.a.
The Applications in the prescribed format given below, may be sent to the Under Secretary (SA-III), University Grants Commission, Bahadur Shah Zafar Marg, New Delhi – 110 002, duly forwarded through the Universities/ Institutions/ Colleges where the fellow is pursuing his/her Post Graduate course within one month from the date of issue of advertisement (Non-extendable) for the scholarship for the year 2007-08.
The last date of receipt of the applications of the scholarship for the year 2008-09 is 01.09.2008. The selection will be made with the help of an expert committee constituted by the commission. The decision of the commission in this regard will be final. Direct and incomplete applications will not be entertained. For further clarification if any may visit UGC website www.ugc.ac.in
